It looks like my views on The Battle Of The Planet sparked a bit of reader interest. The Calzaghe vs. Hopkins fight left quite an impression on my readers and it seems as though there was a stark contrast in the appreciation for my thoughts.

Lets start with Paul who wrote:

Well Hopkins says Calzaghe punches like his sister! well i reckon she might of made more of a fight of it than old Bernie did! but hey Bernie said he didnt get hurt, and the word of a convicted bank robber is all i need! Calzaghe won the fight and the best Hopkins could muster was to run away and duck his head all night.....must of been because calzaghe hits like a sissy! YOU MORON.......who the hell pays you to write your pig crap ?

Since I am co owner of the site along with Bret Newton the truth is no one pays us, if that makes you feel any better. Just knowing blokes like you check in to Pound4Pound on a regular basis is payment enough. I am not sure what oinker fertilizer goes for these days, but thanks for the kind thoughts just the same. I'll stand by Bernard's comments about the fighting style of Super Joe. Yes, Joe won the fight but I don't think his performance was anything to shout about, unless of course you are Enzo. I'm still waiting for someone to translate what the heck he was saying at the post fight presser. Thanks for the thoughts Paul.

Next is a note from Charles who may have a better handle on what Enzo said:

...I lost all respect for Enzo after watching the fight on TV because he sounded like he thought Calzaghe won and then his behavior at the press conference showed no class at all.....

That's a given Charles. Enzo scored zero points with his act. I'll be waiting for transcripts of the dribble he was spewing, cuz as I said, I didn't understand a bit of it, but his dancing was entertaining.

And lastly from our friend BeBlack who says:

I could not agree with you more, who the hell would want to see that again? in fact Joe better get some good competition and start showing just how good (if he is). he is or I say he's just another good fighter (and that's giving him a lot) he's not great by a long stretch.  I think Hopkins won the fight or it was a draw.

Agreed. Joe is far from great and his place in history is not so secure in my book. If he steps up to the plate and fights a Chad Dawson or even a Glen Johnson and defeats them both, then I might consider him worthy of Hall Of Fame accolades, but for now, Joe is a slappy and it's hard to call him great.

Keep those cards and letters coming folks, we appreciate all your thoughts whether or not they agree with our views.
