Scatter-Shooting
By Sean McChesney
I’ve received a few similar emails over the last month, the
basic inquiry of which related to the absence of “The Monday
After,” a feature I had hoped to make a mainstay on
pound4pound.com.
Unfortunately business beckoned: (I’ve been out of the country
traveling the Amazon with a group Primatologists attempting to
locate a near-distinct primate species known as the Screaming
Spider Monkey. Our plan was to study the animal’s peculiar
behavior in an attempt to: identify a potential cause for their
excessive violence, record the rate at which the adolescent
primates displayed autistic traits, and test for greenhouse
effects caused by their existence. Sadly our efforts were mostly
unsuccessful.) Click Here For

the World Series. Fast forward 20 years and 60 miles east to the

Humberto Soto, Ripped Off In Las Vegas
By Igor Frank
Humberto Soto started his professional career in 1997 at the
tender age of seventeen. He had to learn on the job and fought
in obscurity in Mexico. I think he completed his on the job
training in 2002 when he fought and lost a majority decision to
slick veteran Kevin Kelley in Las Vegas. Since then he put
together an impressive streak of wins, twenty one in five years
with fifteen knock outs; among his victims Cesar Figueroa, Luis
Fuente, Oscar Leon, Ivan Valle and Humberto Toledo. In August of
2005 he soundly beat then undefeated Olympian Rocky Juarez,
which signified that he was ready to compete on top level. In
2007 he knocked out Bobby Pacquiao and almost got himself a
fight with his brother Manny, who wowed revenge. Click Here For Full

Torres vs. Holt Teleconference Transcript &
Audio
Torres: I don't remember the first fight
being controversial at all. I beat Holt fair and square, and I
moved on. Now, this is the next fight and I believe it should
be even better. We know each other better. We should be able
to know what each other can do. That's what gives me the
confidence that I have.
Holt: I just remember me not doing enough. I just
remember me not being active enough. I believe I was winning
the fight. I believe the fight was stopped early. I believe
that in this rematch I prepared myself better than I did
before. I believe I'm going to be a lot more active in this
fight, and I believe this time I'll walk away with a WBO
championship.
What are the odds that defending WBO junior
welterweight champion RICARDO TORRES successfully defends his
title twice against top-rated contender KENDALL HOLT? According
to David Snook, Supervisor of Race & Sports at Planet Hollywood
Resort & Casino, not very good. Torres (32-1, 28 KOs), from
Colombia, successfully defended his title in their first
meeting, which was staged in his hometown of Barranquilla. It
was a bout full of controversy and mayhem. Click Here
